Explaining Neuropathy; Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment: When the Pain Won't Stop

This book is an updated 2022 edition that was previously published as the American Academy of Neurology Quality of Life Guide "Peripheral Neuropathy, When the Numbness, Weakness and Pain Won't Stop". The book is written for people with peripheral neuropathy and for those that care for them. It describes how the peripheral nerves work, explains the symptoms, reviews the different causes and types of neuropathy, and discusses their treatments. It also includes stories by people with neuropathy, who were willing to share their personal struggles with the disease in the hope that their experiences will help others.
If you have neuropathy, reading this book will help you understand your condition, communicate with your doctor, make informed decisions, and explain it to your family and friends so they understand what you are going through. Knowing what to expect reduces the worry and anxiety that comes with fearing the unknown, letting you focus on what needs to be done, so you can go about your your normal activities and relations.
